HOW IT WORKS
Calorie scanner app — the honest version
Point your camera at a meal and İvvme recognizes it and estimates calories and macros. The difference: it doesn't pretend a photo is exact.
A photo is a great starting point, but it can't reveal everything that drives calories — the oil a dish was cooked in, how deep the portion really is, or the exact recipe. Apps that promise an exact number from one snap are overselling. İvvme shows an estimate, tells you what it's unsure about, and asks — then you correct it in one sentence ("I added two spoons of oil") and the log updates.
Why photo estimates go wrong
- Hidden oil and butter — invisible to a camera, but real calories.
- Portion depth — a plate looks the same from above whether it's shallow or piled high.
- Recipe and preparation — grilled vs fried, lean vs fatty, sauce or not.
That's why correction matters more than a confident number. İvvme is built for mixed and home-cooked meals — including Turkish and Mediterranean dishes — where one photo is never the whole story.
